TranslAide is a cutting-edge system facilitating the operations of a translation agency. TranslAide manages all stages of completing a translation order, from accepting it to controlling the payment.
TranslAide combines the best of a CAT (Computer Aided Translation) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). TranslAide's principal CAT functions include the following:
- translation editor - an effective web-based application for editing multilingual documents,
- translation memory - a database of sentences or sentence components, translated or imported from bilingual documents, that can later be recalled on the basis of similarity to the source sentence in a new translated text,
- glossary - a list of translated terminology (a small dictionary) assigned to a client, ensuring that a client's translations are terminologically coherent,
- hybrid machine translation - advanced mechanisms for generating draft translations using rule-based, statistical and example-based machine translation,
- import/export of office documents - TranslAide supports popular office formats (MS Office, OpenOffice),
- multilingual document alignment - a tool for the automatic matching of sentences from a text and its translation(s), allowing to generate a translation memory from texts from outside the system,
- quality check - automatic quality alerts at the stage of translation edition, facilitating communication between the client and the translator,
Here are TranslAide's main ERP functions:
- client accounts - for the automation of the procedures of receiving and delivering translations,
- automatic quotation - for the assessment of the price of a translation; a function allowing to reduce the quotation for recurring text,
- automatic task allocation - automatically orders tasks and assigns them to logged-in linguists,
- invoicing - to generate invoices or receipts,
- payments - integration with AllPay payment system; pre-paid payment system,
- linguist evaluation system - allows you to evaluate your translators, offer them various rates and assign priority levels,
- document flow monitoring - translation agency administration account for the control the translation process at all stages.
TranslAide is a client-server architecture product of great scalability (ability to be readily enlarged). In its development, we used open-source server and data-base solutions, reducing the costs of the server platform. TranslAide operates on both Unix/Linux and Windows server platforms.
The TranslAide server publishes an API using which clients can order a translation without logging in (the function is particularly useful for the automation of website translation, see: Globalizer). Confidentiality and data integrity measures are checked in our periodic internal audits
in accordance with the MITRE recommendations.
