Business dictionary

A team managed by Dr. Filip Graliński compiled a large business dictionary, containing entries from the following fields: banking, accounting, commerce, economics, insurance etc. The dictionary contains single words (maturity, franchisor, affiliated, to subcontract), but also idiomatic expressions, both simple (to incur liability, discount rate, write-down) and complex (cash flow ratios, to admit shares to trading, public sector borrowing requirements). The Polish-English side contains 4,500 headword entries and 15,000 idioms and the English-Polish side about 5,500 entries and 14,000 idioms.
We have incorporated the lexical resources of the dictionaries in the Translatica Server translation system. They will also be a part of a translation memory (TM) with a bank of technical terminology.
